Sharapova Appears in New Polymarket Tennis Campaign

Sharapova Appears in New Polymarket Tennis Campaign
Maria Sharapova is back in Polymarket content, this time in an advertisement built around tennis. Her exact role with the prediction-market platform has not been disclosed.

The former world No. 1 appears in the video talking about watching matches and trading contracts linked to their results. She also shared the campaign through her own social media account, putting the promotion directly in front of her tennis audience.

Sharapova has featured in Polymarket-backed content before, so the new spot continues an existing connection. Polymarket has not described her as an ambassador or announced a long-term endorsement agreement.

A Familiar Name for a Newer Product

Sharapova retired in 2020 after a career that included five Grand Slam singles titles and time at No. 1 in the WTA rankings. She joined the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2025. That background gives the campaign an obvious tennis link without much explanation. The timing, though, is more interesting than the choice of celebrity.

Polymarket has spent the past few weeks adding tennis content to its US product. In August, it became the ATP Tour’s official prediction market provider.

The agreement also covers live streaming. Registered US users can watch ATP Tour and ATP Challenger Tour matches inside the app while accessing markets on the same events. Around 20,000 matches per season are included.

Polymarket Builds Around Live Tennis

The volume gives Polymarket something a one-off campaign cannot: a regular sports schedule. A user watching an ATP match can stay inside the platform and open a market linked to the result. There is no separate streaming service in between. The viewing experience and the trading product sit in the same place.

Sharapova brings the audience in from outside the product. Once there, Polymarket has something more substantial to show them than a campaign page: live tennis and markets running alongside it.

The setup also moves prediction markets closer to the way sportsbooks compete for sports audiences, even if the products are different. For Polymarket, the useful test now is whether tennis can generate regular trading activity over a full season, rather than a short spike around a celebrity campaign.
