CoinPoker Cuts Poker Commissions for Pro-Player Referrals

Casino and sports betting commissions are not affected. The restriction appears in Section 8 of CoinPoker’s current affiliate agreement. There was no equivalent provision in the version archived on January 12, 2026, when Section 8 dealt with temporary account freezes.
CoinPoker Decides Who Counts as a Pro
The new section leaves that decision with the operator. CoinPoker may classify players as professionals, or change an existing classification, using their playing statistics and other data. No minimum stake, win rate or playing-volume threshold is given in the public terms.
The section also bars affiliates from specifically recruiting professional players and poker stables. Additional onboarding incentives for those players are prohibited, as is encouraging them to create new accounts for extra rakeback or to circumvent the policy.
For a partner working with poker communities, the distinction is not necessarily visible at registration. Someone referred through an ordinary affiliate link may later be classified as a professional. The agreement does not specify how that decision is reported to the partner.
An Exception Written Into Individual Deals
The January contract had a different approach to earlier agreements. Clause 17.4 stated that the latest terms replaced all previous arrangements.
The current Clause 18.4 allows individually negotiated affiliate, partner and ambassador agreements to remain in force, subject to express exceptions. It names the professional-player commission policy as one of them. That leaves an affiliate’s separately negotiated rate in place without preserving commissions on the excluded poker activity. It’s a detail worth checking when comparing affiliate programs.
There is another difference in the amendment provisions. In January, Clause 17.2 required notification of changes by email. The corresponding Clause 18.2 now says only that affiliates will be notified. It does not identify a particular channel.
December Payments and Unanswered Questions
Neither the number of affected affiliates nor the date on which the revised contract was first published is stated in the document. CoinPoker’s payment schedule remains the same: commissions for the previous accounting period are processed between the 10th and 15th of each month. November is the first full accounting month under the professional-player restriction, with payments scheduled for December 10-15.
The new agreement does not say whether affiliates can dispute a player’s professional classification or how excluded poker activity will be displayed in their reports.
