VGW Pulls Sweeps Coins From Oklahoma but Keeps Gold Coin Games

The state was absent from the September 16 exclusion lists, including Global Poker’s earlier terms. By October 30, it had been added to the promotional-play restrictions at all three brands, including the revised Chumba Casino agreement.
Oklahoma Is on One Ban List, Not Both
VGW has a separate list for states where its platforms are unavailable altogether. Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Washington are on it. Oklahoma is not.
Players there can still use Gold Coins for games without redeemable prizes. Sweeps Coins are off-limits. The October 30 LuckyLand Casino rules put Oklahoma among 17 states excluded from promotional play.
The October documents contain no separate redemption timetable for Sweeps Coins accumulated by Oklahoma residents before the restriction. They do not clarify how VGW will handle those existing balances.
Media Affiliates Are Named in the Law
Oklahoma’s SB 1589 took effect on November 1. The enacted bill addresses dual-currency gambling systems and names businesses beyond the casino operators themselves.
Geolocation companies, gaming suppliers, platform providers, promoters and media affiliates appear in the legislation. Providing support for prohibited gambling can carry Class C2 felony liability, whether that assistance is paid or unpaid. The law also provides for fines of $500 to $2,000 and imprisonment.
For affiliates sending traffic from Oklahoma, the wording warrants a review of campaigns promoting sweepstakes games. VGW’s updated player agreements say nothing about cancelled affiliate contracts or existing advertising campaigns aimed at the state. They deal with player eligibility, not partner arrangements.
