DraftKings Takes 31.7% of US Sportsbook GGR, EKG Estimates

The October report from Eilers & Krejcik Gaming calls this DraftKings’ first lead in the firm’s post-COVID tracking. EKG also puts Hard Rock, Fanatics and bet365 at around 21% of the market combined.
FanDuel Still Leads in August State Reports
There is another set of numbers worth checking. The American Gambling Markets Atlas uses published operator-level revenue from 12 jurisdictions. Its August figures still have FanDuel in front.
Dataset
DraftKings
FanDuel
EKG, Q3 through August
31.7%
31.4%
AGMA, August only
34.4%
35.7%
The difference comes down to coverage and timing. AGMA measures one month across reporting jurisdictions. EKG estimates the national market over the first two months of Q3.
An earlier 15M analysis of Iowa dealt with September betting handle, not GGR. That distinction also rules out a direct comparison with either revenue ranking.
September Bonuses Fell Despite the NFL Return
September brought more encouraging revenue figures, though not much growth in wagering. EKG’s preliminary state sample shows handle up just 2% year on year, following a 5% decline in August.
Bonusing was down 22%, even with the NFL season underway. Net hold recovered to roughly 5%, and net gaming revenue (NGR) rose 65% against a particularly weak September 2025 comparison.
These September numbers tell a different story from the GGR-share ranking. In the states EKG sampled, sportsbooks generated substantially more NGR on barely higher betting volume. They do not show whether DraftKings held its estimated national lead.
