Kambi Reports 32% Fewer NBA Bet Rejections After AI Switch

The NBA figure covers the first few weeks of the new basketball season. Kambi has also changed how it handles waiting times during live events: 59% of live wagers traded by its AI system are now accepted with zero delay.
NBA Provides an Early Test of Kambi’s AI System
The NBA migration took place in October, after the reporting quarter had ended. Kambi included the early results in its Q3 announcement, alongside figures for its wider AI deployment.
Previously, live wagers could be held for a fixed period while the sportsbook checked for changes in the event or betting price. Kambi now assesses the individual bet, taking account of the match situation, wager type and trading risk. CEO Werner Becher described the approach during the November 4 earnings call as judging "each and every bet on their own merits."
The company has been moving individual sports onto the system throughout 2026. Soccer, tennis, ice hockey and baseball were already covered before the latest expansion into basketball.
Kambi Calculates 18 Million More Accepted Bets
The change in live-bet processing has also produced a forecast. Becher expects dynamic delays to add 18 million accepted wagers over a year.
Spread across 365 days, that works out to roughly 49,300 additional accepted bets per day, according to a 15M calculation. It is an annualised estimate rather than a count of wagers already recovered.
Kambi processes around 1.5 billion bets annually across more than 70 partners. The additional 18 million would amount to about 1.2% of that volume, assuming the network’s annual bet count remains unchanged.
The rollout has moved quickly. In the first quarter, AI was handling more than 60% of bets, as 15M reported in May. That share has now reached 85%.
Five Percentage Points Left to Reach 90%
American football and table tennis are next on Kambi’s migration list. The supplier wants AI to handle 90% of network bets by the end of December, five percentage points above its latest reading.
Kambi reported the 32% NBA rejection improvement for its network. It did not provide separate rejection rates for partner sportsbooks, leaving affiliates without brand-level figures to compare.
