Evolution Launches Spinning Whale for North America

The supplier announced Spinning Whale on September 29. Its first title is 888 Dragon’s Fortune Hold’n’Win, while a wider North American network rollout is scheduled for November.
The studio is being built around differences Evolution says it sees in US slot play, including themes, volatility, mechanics and visual style. North America is “a key market for Evolution,” according to regional CEO Jacob Claesson.
The Spinning Whale Name Was Filed Five Months Earlier
The public reveal came at the end of September. Work on the brand was visible much earlier.
15M checked Canada’s federal trademark database and found a Spinning Whale application filed by Evolution Malta Limited on April 29, 2026. That is exactly five months before Evolution announced the studio.
The Canadian filing remains a live application awaiting examination. Its listed goods cover gambling game software, mobile gaming applications and other software used for online casino products.
Canada is also notable because Evolution is presenting Spinning Whale as a North America-first project rather than simply another global slot label.
Evolution Keeps Its RNG Brands Separate
Spinning Whale joins a portfolio that Evolution’s launch notice lists as NetEnt, Red Tiger, Big Time Gaming, Nolimit City and Sneaky Slots. This time, there was no acquisition behind the new name. Evolution built Spinning Whale as a separate brand aimed at a particular market and style of player.
The company is also keeping that identity separate from its existing studios. Spinning Whale is not being folded into NetEnt, Red Tiger or another established label.
The distribution side is less complicated. Its games will go through Evolution’s One Stop Shop platform, the same system operators already use to access other content from the group.
First Game Borrows From the Casino Floor
The first release offers a clearer look at the studio’s US angle. 888 Dragon’s Fortune Hold’n’Win combines an Asian theme with a Hold’n’Win mechanic. Evolution says the design also takes cues from classic land-based slots familiar to US casino players. No second Spinning Whale title has been named yet.
The studio is due to reach Evolution’s wider North American network in November. More releases are planned for 2027, although Evolution has not said which operators or jurisdictions will be first in line.
