BetHog Closes B2C Brand to Prioritize AI Dealer Platform

Customers have until the end of July to withdraw any remaining account balances. The closure brings BetHog’s consumer phase to an end less than two years after its November 2024 launch.
Engineering Resources Move to Sentient Studios
BetHog said its engineering team has already shifted its attention to the AI dealer platform. Technology developed for the casino will also be incorporated into Sentient Studios.
The decision accelerates the strategy outlined in April, when the company introduced Sentient Studios as a product for external operators. At that stage, there was no indication that BetHog would stop taking bets.
The company now says the supplier business has attracted interest from tier-one operators. Several integrations are under discussion, with some casino launches expected later in 2026.
BetHog was founded by former FanDuel executives Nigel Eccles and Rob Jones. The platform combined cryptocurrency betting with proprietary casino content and operated for around 20 months.
Funding Backs the Supplier Strategy
Sentient Studios was unveiled alongside a $10 million Series A funding round in April. The company said the capital would support further development of its AI dealer technology and its rollout to third-party casino operators.
The platform is designed to provide live-style casino games without relying on human dealers or traditional studio staffing. Operators can use the technology to introduce AI-hosted tables across different languages and branded environments.
Sentient Studios is offered through a revenue-share model. The supplier says it does not require setup fees, monthly minimums, or long-term contracts. That structure may make initial testing easier for operators that are not ready to commit to a full live casino studio.
BetHog Served as the Testing Ground
The first public product was Sunny, an AI blackjack dealer launched on BetHog in October 2025. The dealer later became available in 12 languages and developed into one of the platform’s most-played games, according to the company.
BetHog gave the team a consumer-facing environment in which to test the technology with real players. The company could study usage, refine the dealer experience, and demonstrate the product before approaching other operators.
What the Closure Means
Closing down the casino is not an exit from the market but more of a shift in the company’s business model. BetHog brought about access to the customer base, but it meant that the company had to operate a sportsbook and a casino brand. Sentient Studios allows the same team to deal with multiple operators simultaneously. Its next likely task will be to convert industry interest into live integrations and recurring B2B revenue.
