1xBet Guides Turn Up on Nigeria’s Health Ministry Website

The posts appeared on health.gov.ng, the website of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. Each was credited to “admin” and placed in the Press Release section. None concerned public health.
Betting Guides Published as Press Releases
15M checked 12 separate URLs on October 16. The number covers pages found during the review; it is not necessarily the full total.
The articles dealt with several subjects:
- Russian – account access, installation and promo codes;
- Uzbek – mobile downloads, Google Play and betting mirrors;
- Azerbaijani – iPhone apps, registration bonuses and alternative access.
One Uzbek-language page is titled as a guide to downloading the 1xBet app for free. It discusses account verification, wagering requirements and blocked bookmaker websites.

The Russian material includes an account login guide. Partway through, the text switches from 1xBet to 1win casino. A separate Azerbaijani article about 1xBet bonuses opens with instructions for submitting identity documents to Betera, then moves to Fonbet promo codes.
The different brands appear inside the articles themselves. They are not labelled as advertisements.
External Links in Betting Articles
The Uzbek download guide directs readers to qwikvisas.com while explaining how to reach an alternative 1xBet address. The Russian login article contains a link to shkola-sluha.kz in a paragraph discussing betting services.
Neither domain belongs to Nigeria’s health ministry. The review did not establish whether either destination is actually a 1xBet mirror, how much traffic it receives or who added the links.
Several pages also use images hosted on unrelated websites. Other links connect the betting articles to one another inside health.gov.ng. The material is published as full pages under a government domain, rather than merely appearing in adverts placed beside official content.
Previous Security Problems Reported in May
The website has had problems before. On May 31, Nigerian investigative outlet FIJ reported that the ministry had cleared browser security warnings, unrelated redirects and online casino pop-ups from health.gov.ng. The browser warnings had been reported in February. FIJ said they were no longer appearing during its May check.
The October posts are a separate finding. Their appearance does not establish a new breach, identify who uploaded them or link the publications to 1xBet itself.
15M covered another Nigerian government website in August, when offshore casino pages were found on the electoral commission’s domain. Those pages concerned other casino brands.
The ministry pages checked on October 16 remained publicly accessible. Their displayed publication date is October 15, but the time and method of insertion could not be established from the visible posts.
