Stake Targets October 12 for Alberta Launch

Canadian Gaming Business reported the latest approval on October 6. Stake had entered the AGLC register on September 24.
One step is still open. The operator needs an agreement with Alberta iGaming Corporation before it can begin taking regulated bets.
Launch Target Lands One Day Before Cutoff
October 12 also puts Stake one day before Alberta’s October 13 transition deadline. The deadline applies to operators moving into the province’s regulated system during the temporary transition period. AGLC handles registration, while AiGC handles the operating agreement.
Other international brands have already completed that move. As previously reported by 15M, Betway launched in Alberta in September.
Stake’s date remains a target rather than a completed launch. The AiGC agreement had not been announced when the October 12 timing was reported.
Stake’s Alberta Page Still Has No Launch Date
There is also a difference between the latest timeline and what Alberta users currently see on Stake’s own site. 15M checked the Stake Alberta page on October 7. It still told visitors that the platform was coming “in 2026.” The page did not show October 12 or another specific launch date.

Stake’s Alberta page still gives only 2026 as the launch timing
What to Watch Next
For affiliates, the key date is October 12. Registration alone changes little; the real test is whether Stake actually goes live and starts showing Alberta-specific offers, tracking and acquisition activity.
The launch should also give an early read on how quickly big international brands can pull players into Alberta’s regulated market. The first weeks after launch will be worth watching.
