NBA Names Kalshi and Polymarket, Expands DraftKings Deal

The league has put the companies into two partner groups rather than give one platform exclusive rights. Kalshi and Polymarket share the same preferred status, while DraftKings enters through an expansion of its existing sportsbook agreement.
Kalshi and Polymarket Get NBA Data Rights
Under the new agreements, both exchanges can use NBA intellectual property in U.S. marketing and promotional activities. They will receive official league data from Sportradar, the NBA’s data distribution partner, to operate and settle authorized basketball contracts. Neither exchange has the Preferred label to itself.
The arrangement goes beyond permission to display team logos. According to the NBA, it places limits on the types of contracts that can be listed and bars league and team personnel from trading on NBA events. The exchanges must also share information about suspicious activity and assist with investigations.
Kalshi says the Sportradar feed will connect settlement to the league’s official game record. In its announcement, the platform also points to existing measures involving IC360 for market monitoring and Signify for athlete protection. Those relationships are separate from the newly signed NBA agreement.
The package has a boundary: WNBA rights are not included automatically, Front Office Sports reported. The exchanges would need separate arrangements to use the women’s league’s intellectual property. Financial terms were not disclosed.
DraftKings Is Not a Preferred Exchange
DraftKings entered the announcement through another route. Already an official NBA sports betting partner, the company has now extended that relationship to prediction markets and nationwide promotion. The league lists this arrangement under Authorized Prediction Market Operators, a different category from the Kalshi and Polymarket agreements.
The NBA expressly grants the two preferred exchanges official Sportradar data access for their authorized markets. Its statement does not spell out an equivalent new data grant for DraftKings.
This is also not a new trading-platform launch. As 15M reported in December 2025, DraftKings Predictions had already gone live. October’s change concerns its NBA partnership.
The CFTC Signs a Separate Memorandum
In release No. 9314-26, the CFTC said the memorandum provides for regular communication and information exchange on market integrity. The commission named the NBA as the latest league to take this step, after MLB and NHL. It did not announce a new licence or regulatory approval for any of the three commercial partners.
State authorities have challenged the CFTC’s claim to federal jurisdiction over sports event contracts, as Reuters reported. The NBA memorandum does not settle those cases.
The NBA has thus announced three commercial relationships in two partner tiers, plus a fourth agreement with the regulator. More partnerships are expected in the coming weeks. Whether other sportsbooks receive DraftKings’ designation or gain the same data rights as Kalshi and Polymarket remains open.
