Mellstroy Says Cyprus Police Located Him Over Kazakhstan Casino Case
Mellstroy said in a video shared by R2B on September 30 that Cyprus police had found him. The channel linked the development to the search initiated by Kazakhstan. It is not yet clear whether he was detained, questioned or simply contacted by police.
15M checked the public information available from Cypriot police and Kazakhstan’s Financial Monitoring Agency. Neither had published an announcement confirming Mellstroy’s detention at the time of writing.
There is also no public listing for Burim in INTERPOL’s searchable Red Notice database. That does not rule out an INTERPOL alert. The organisation says most notices are restricted to law-enforcement authorities and never appear in the public database.
He Had Already Said He Could Not Leave Cyprus
The Cyprus part of the story is not new. In December 2025, Mellstroy said he was staying in the Republic of Cyprus and could not leave because Kazakhstan had put him into the INTERPOL system. The Insider reported the claim at the time, while noting that there was no independent confirmation of an INTERPOL notice.
The September 30 statement goes further. Instead of describing a restriction on travel, Mellstroy now says local police have found him. His own channels had also previously shown him living in southern Cyprus.
Kazakhstan Case Started With Mellstroy.game Promotion
Kazakhstan’s Financial Monitoring Agency announced the investigation on November 17, 2025. The agency said a court had authorized detention of Burim and that he had been placed on an international wanted list. He is suspected of organising a large social-media campaign to promote Mellstroy.game, including to users in Kazakhstan. The AFM notice said participants were encouraged to publish TikTok and YouTube Shorts videos containing the casino name, logos and links.
The investigation later widened around people allegedly connected to the same operation. In March, the AFM said another blogger, Ilyar Yuashev, had participated in a network that included Mellstroy.game. Investigators alleged that 22 front companies and payment tools were used during the 2024-2025 operation to receive more than KZT3.6 billion ($7.46 million) in player funds. The conversion uses the National Bank of Kazakhstan’s March 24, 2026 official rate of KZT482.33 per US dollar. The agency did not specify how much of that amount related specifically to Mellstroy.game.
For now, the confirmed position remains that Burim is wanted by Kazakhstan and that a Kazakh court authorised detention. Whether Cyprus has actually detained him or started an extradition process remains unconfirmed.
