UK ASA Bans AI Scorecast Ad Over 97% Accuracy Claim

UK ASA Bans AI Scorecast Ad Over 97% Accuracy Claim
The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned a Facebook ad for AI Scorecast after it claimed 97% accuracy in football predictions. The October 14 ruling found that the ad gave consumers a misleading impression of their chances of making money from betting.

The paid Facebook ad was seen in April 2026. It promoted AI Scorecast, a football data analytics app operated by HRY Games, according to the ASA’s October 14 decision.

Six Correct Matches Used in the Facebook Ad

A man wearing a blue and white football shirt appeared in the video. The voiceover described an AI system that analysed thousands of football data points within seconds and produced betting slips with high odds.

The ad made two accuracy claims:

  • 97% accuracy in predicting football match outcomes;
  • Six matches allegedly predicted correctly by the person presenting the app.

The six-match example did not provide a total sample against which the 97% figure could be checked. The ASA ruling did not establish the app’s actual prediction accuracy. It examined the message presented to potential users.

Three CAP Code Rules Cited

ASA objected to the impression that users could expect to earn money from betting with the app. The video showed successful picks but said nothing about losing tips or money lost on bets.

The ruling cites CAP Code rules 1.3 and 3.1, covering social responsibility and misleading advertising. A third rule, 1.7, came into play because HRY Games never answered ASA’s enquiries.

The ad cannot run again in the same form. The case has gone to CAP Compliance. The decision does not mention a fine.

AI Monitoring Flagged the Facebook Ad

ASA’s own Active Ad Monitoring system identified the advertisement for investigation. The system uses AI to scan online ads for possible violations.

This case belongs to a wider ASA review of AI product advertising. The ruling deals with the claims made in the video, not with a technical assessment of the app’s prediction model.

Google Play Lists the App as 11XScore

A check of the Google Play listing on October 15 found the app under another name: 11XScore Football Insights, published by HRY Apps. Its package ID is still “com.scorecast.ai”.

Google Play shows an October 9 update. It does not give the date of the name change.

The current description calls its football predictions statistical estimates and says results are not guaranteed. It also states that the app neither accepts bets nor displays betting odds. The 97% figure is absent.

Both the ASA ruling and the Google Play developer information list addresses in Ankara, Turkey.
