Relax Gaming Adds JPX Jackpot Layer to Casino Portfolios
JPX does not require a separate game portfolio to host the jackpot mechanic. The feature can be added to titles already available through Relax Gaming’s network. This gives casinos another way to introduce jackpot play without relying on a dedicated jackpot slot.
Operators Control the Jackpot Setup
A large part of JPX can be configured by the operator. Relax provides the underlying technology and mathematical modelling, while its partners decide how the product appears within their casino. The available settings include:
- Jackpot name;
- Colors and fonts;
- RTP;
- Jackpot drop frequency;
- Different participation tiers.
Players join through an optional side bet. The tier system allows them to choose between different contribution levels.
JPX also includes an information ribbon showing jackpot levels as they move closer to their must-fall points. The same interface is used to prompt players when the jackpot is approaching a required payout level.
One Integration Covers Existing Games
The rollout model is one of the main differences between JPX and a jackpot tied to an individual slot. Relax Gaming already supplies content and aggregation technology to casino operators. JPX uses those existing connections, allowing the jackpot layer to sit across a broader selection of games.
For Relax, this also creates another product that can be distributed through infrastructure the company already has in place. Operators, meanwhile, can introduce a separate side-bet mechanic without replacing the games that are already generating traffic.
More JPX Features Are Planned
The first version will not be the final feature set. Relax Gaming has already named free bets and community jackpots among the additions planned for later versions of JPX.
No timetable has been disclosed for those updates. The supplier has also not published figures for expected contribution rates, average jackpot sizes or the likely frequency of payouts under different operator configurations.
JPX Extends the Jackpot Beyond Individual Games
The commercial angle behind JPX is the ability to separate the jackpot mechanic from a specific title. An operator can keep its existing game mix while adding another layer of wagering around it.
That could make experimentation easier. Casinos can change participation levels, branding and jackpot settings without waiting for a new jackpot game to gain traction. The remaining question is player uptake: the value of the system will depend on whether optional side bets attract enough participation across the wider portfolio to justify running an additional jackpot layer.
