Play’n GO Goes Live With Betano in Colombia

Play’n GO Goes Live With Betano in Colombia
Play’n GO has launched its full casino portfolio with Betano in Colombia. The deal gives the supplier a wider route into one of Latin America’s more established regulated gambling markets.

The Play’n GO portfolio was made available to Betano Colombia, along with popular titles like Book of Dead and Reactoonz. Betano has gained even richer casino content at a time when licensed operators in Colombia battle for users both in sports betting and casino sectors.

Stronger Presence in Latin America

This agreement offers a new entry point to the Colombian market for Play’n GO. This is thanks to the company Kaizen Gaming, which runs the Betano brand. Kaizen got approval from Coljuegos in November 2024 to launch Betano.co in Colombia.

For Betano, the integration is about adding new products. The brand already has a strong image in sports betting. A richer casino portfolio could help to keep users within the same platform after their acquisition through sports betting.

Colombia Continues to Be a Targeted Regulated LatAm Market

Colombia has been one of Latin America’s key regulated online gambling markets for some years now. That’s why it looks attractive for the suppliers that prefer to expand via licensed operators and not through grey-market traffic.

Currently, there are 15 authorised operators listed by Coljuegos. This number includes Betano, Wplay, Betsson, Codere, BetPlay, Rushbet, Bwin, Stake, and the newly authorised Mr. Yoker.

That is quite a significant difference from other LatAm countries, which have no such regulatory framework. In that sense, Colombia can be interesting for suppliers as it gives them clear ways to enter the market and work there. At the same time, suppliers have to comply with local legislation.

There is also a lot of work done by Coljuegos in terms of enforcement. According to the regulator, it has sent 46,228 blocking orders to illegal gambling websites since 2022.

This situation helps licensed operators, but at the same time, it sets higher standards for the suppliers. They should adapt to local laws and reporting obligations, and operators’ needs.

Possibility of Conversion of Sports Traffic to Casino Users

The Betano agreement is useful for Play’n GO because the casino content could be launched behind sports traffic. Football fans could switch from sports bets to slots in case the operator has a rich casino portfolio on its platform.

However, this doesn’t guarantee any success. There are already several operators in Colombia, which means that the availability of games is not going to determine the results of the launch. In this respect, performance is likely to depend on factors like lobby placement, CRM timing, mobile experience, and bonus structure.

The strength of Play’n GO is its recognizable portfolio. The strength of Betano is its regulated platform with sports traffic. The success of the whole partnership relies on how these two assets will be integrated.

Market View

This launch represents an expansion strategy rather than a simple content integration. Colombia offers Play’n GO a regulated testing ground, while Betano adds another casino weight to its business without changing the current model based on sports traffic.

The main risk is margin pressure if Colombia adds tougher tax or operating rules later. In case of such changes, the partners would have to adapt the games’ economics without losing the attractiveness of licensed sites compared to offshore ones.
