Marc Bircham has landed a spot on Lottery.com’s Board of Directors as an Executive Director. The digital lottery, sports and entertainment tech company announced the move yesterday.
Bircham isn’t new to the business side. He’s spent almost a year as director at Sports.com, where he helped grow the company’s global sports media presence.
Before suits and boardrooms, Bircham was a football star. He made over 300 pro appearances and earned 21 caps for Canada. Many fans still call him a Queens Park Rangers legend.
His track record made him stand out. At Sports.com, Bircham played a key part in the company’s football club acquisitions.
He brings serious credentials too. Bircham holds a UEFA Pro licence and has coached in six different countries, including the US, England, and Canada.
“Marc has made a tremendous impact at Sports.com,” said Matthew McGahan, Lottery.com’s Chairman and CEO. “His appointment reflects our confidence in his strategic leadership.”
McGahan added: “His (Marc Bircham) appointment to the Lottery.com Board reflects our confidence in his strategic leadership as we continue our international expansion across the sports, gaming, and entertainment sectors.”
For Lottery.com, they get an exec with both playing and business experience. McGahan called him “a true leader—both on and off the pitch.”
For Bircham, it’s a step up into the executive ranks of a public company expanding in sports and gaming.
The appointment builds on his work at Sports.com, where he’s spent nearly a year helping with their global sports strategy.
The move signals Lottery.com’s push deeper into sports. They’re clearly building a team with real sports industry knowledge.
In February 2025, the company’s shareholders announced the approval of key financial and governance proposals, which included the election of a new board director. Elected as Class II Board Director was Paul Jordan. Additionally, Boladale Lawal & Co was appointed to the role as Lottery.com’s accounting firm for the previous year.
Bircham seems ready for the challenge. “It’s an honour to be appointed,” he said. “I believe in the company’s vision of uniting lottery, sports and entertainment into a global digital ecosystem.”
The appointment comes as Lottery.com continues expanding across sports, gaming, and entertainment sectors worldwide.
In March 2025, Lottery.com acquired Spektrum in a $1.5m stock deal. The acquisition meant Lottery.com was provided with a compliant platform for sweepstakes, social gaming operations and lottery across multiple worldwide jurisdictions such as Europe, Africa and Asia.
McGahan shared insight into the acquisition, stating: “This tech deal is the first closed deal of 2025, marking an exciting milestone following our successful executive summit.”
