Konami Gaming completed its gaming-related vendor licensing in the United Arab Emirates. The company now joins Scientific Games and Light & Wonder in securing market access to the country.
Tom Jingoli, Konami’s President and COO, commented on the licensing achievement. He was appointed to the leadership role on June 30 after more than 20 years with the supplier.
The General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority awarded Konami its license. GCGRA is an independent entity of the UAE Federal Government with exclusive jurisdiction over commercial gaming activities.
Scientific Games received similar licensing on May 27. Light & Wonder followed with its approval on July 21.
The UAE is expanding its economy to include regulated commercial gaming. This represents a new opportunity for international gaming suppliers.
Jingoli said Konami’s global growth relies on “unwavering commitment to compliance.” The company currently serves 431 gaming jurisdictions worldwide.
Multiple major suppliers securing licenses shows growing industry interest in the UAE market. The country offers access to a previously untapped regional gaming economy.
Konami wants to support the UAE market with the same standards it brings to other jurisdictions. The company emphasised integrity, innovation and excellence in its approach.
The gaming-related vendor license allows Konami to operate in the UAE’s commercial gaming space. GCGRA holds exclusive authority to regulate, license and supervise all such activities within the country.
Jingoli oversees day-to-day operations, execution and partnerships throughout Konami’s business. His role includes managing the company’s expansion into new markets, such as the UAE.
The license puts Konami alongside other major suppliers in the newly regulated market. This creates a competitive environment as the UAE gaming sector continues to develop.
Konami also extended its mobile reach to Portugal in April 2025. The company formed a collaboration with Solverde Group to offer online slot games after developing land-based titles there for over 10 years.
The UAE license adds another jurisdiction to Konami’s global portfolio. The company can now offer its gaming products and services in the Middle Eastern market.
Konami’s compliance focus helped secure the licensing approval. The supplier’s established track record across 431 jurisdictions likely supported its UAE application.
The timing aligns with other major suppliers entering the market. This suggests coordinated efforts to establish operations as UAE gaming regulations take effect.
Additional recent developments include the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians selecting Konami’s Synkros casino management system on June 24. The system will be integrated at both Spotlight 29 Casino and Tortoise Rock Casino in southern California.
In May 2025, Konami published its FY2025 results, revealing that its casino division revenue rose 7.4% year-on-year to JPY 42.7 billion.
