Highlight Games brought its Soccerbet products to Romania through Fortuna Entertainment Group. The London-based supplier launched several virtual football titles on Fortuna’s Casa Pariurilor and Fortuna Romania platforms.
This isn’t their first collaboration. The companies already work together in Poland and other markets across Europe.
Steven Holmes runs Highlight Games as CEO. Erik Klems manages RNG products for Fortuna’s group operations. Both companies have been pushing into regulated European markets over the past year.
Why Archive-Based Virtual Sports Appeal to Operators
Romania’s online betting market keeps growing. Operators there need content that stands out from standard virtual sports offerings.
Soccerbet uses real match footage instead of animations. Players see actual historic clips from Serie A, LaLiga and Premier League games. The RNG system decides outcomes, but the visuals come from genuine football archives.
That mix sits between traditional sports betting and instant-win games. It gives operators something different to offer their customers.
Fortuna’s been building its regional presence. The operator bought a majority stake in Montenegro’s Lob back in October. They’re putting money into AI tools and tech upgrades across their markets.
What Products Went Live
The launch included multiple Soccerbet versions. Each one features official archive content from specific leagues and clubs.
Real match footage gets combined with random number generation. Players bet on outcomes while watching actual historic games play out.
The products don’t require scheduled match times like live sports. They’re available whenever players want them. (This makes them useful for filling gaps between real matches.)
Holmes called the Romania launch “another significant milestone” for the company’s European push. He said they’ll bring more content to Fortuna customers soon.
Klems said the archive footage approach brings “something genuinely fresh to the market.” He expects strong player response based on performance in other territories.
How This Affects Virtual Sports Competition
Other suppliers will need to match the archive footage angle. Standard animated virtual sports might look less appealing now.
Fortuna’s investment in AI personalisation should help them target Soccerbet content at the right players. They’re using tech upgrades to improve how they recommend games.
The partnership could expand into more Fortuna markets. FEG operates across Central and Eastern Europe. Highlight Games might roll out Soccerbet in those territories next.
This also shows where virtual sports are heading. Operators want content that feels more authentic than basic computer-generated games. Real footage changes that equation.
