Greentube Adds Slovenia to Its European Map via Casino.si
Greentube enters Slovenia after signing a content agreement with Casino.si. This brings a range of legacy Novomatic titles and newer releases to a highly regulated market.

Slovenia isn’t among Europe’s most open online gambling jurisdictions, which means market entry is often more significant than it would be in more liberalized territories. In this regard, Greentube’s launch with Casino.si looks like a targeted move into a regulated market where local partnerships matter.

The deal grants Casino.si access to a portfolio of games that have already gained recognition in Central Europe. The first batch of titles will include relatively new titles like Charming Lady’s Boom and the Cash Connection series, as well as older favorites like Lord of the Ocean, Book of Ra Deluxe, and Sizzling Hot Deluxe. The studio isn’t trying to test the market with niche content but entering it with games that have a track record in nearby countries.

A Local Operator With Established Roots

The local dimension of the partnership is also relevant here. Casino.si is a brand operated by Casino Portorož, often referred to as the oldest land-based casino in Slovenia. That makes the rollout different from what it would look like if launching through a purely online business with no local physical presence. In smaller regulated markets, such a footprint can still be relevant to the promotion of online services.

There’s also another aspect to this story. While Greentube is making its first go-live in the Slovenian iGaming market, it has already had a development presence in the country. In January 2025, it changed the name of its Slovenian software subsidiary to Greentube SI, and, as its corporate resources suggest, Ljubljana is the location of one of its development offices. Therefore, the current launch is a commercial expansion rather than the company’s first operational connection with Slovenia.

What It Says About Greentube’s European Strategy

The broader Greentube European model looks fairly consistent: enter a regulated market through local operators, lead with proven content, and build up gradually. Slovenia is a good example of a market that follows this model well. It’s a relatively small market, but one where supplier access is important, as it’s not as easy to get distribution here as in other parts of Europe.

This particular deal is not going to change European iGaming on its own, but it does illustrate where supplier competition is headed. Mature providers are still looking to grow, and this increasingly involves cherry-picking well-regulated and harder-to-enter markets on a single operator basis.
