Google Brings Social Casino Certification into Ads Accounts

Google plans to introduce the feature gradually during August 2026. Advertisers included in the rollout will find a new application option in the Admin area under Policy and Account. The existing Help Center form will remain available. Current certifications and applications already under review will not be affected by the rollout.
This is an administrative change rather than a fresh opening for social casino advertising. Google already permits certified campaigns in approved countries. The update changes how some businesses submit their details and manage the approval process.
Direct Operators Remain the Main Users
Google defines social casino games as simulated gambling-style titles where players cannot win money or another prize with real-world value. Slots, poker, and similar casino formats may fall within the category.
Sweepstakes casinos are excluded because their prize models can involve items with monetary value. Google also does not support ads from affiliates or aggregators whose content directly promotes social casino games. The certification route is aimed at the game operators themselves.
Campaign Rules Stay in Place
Approved advertisers must display an age disclaimer and avoid targeting minors. They must also state that the game does not offer real-money gambling or prizes with real-world value.
In-app purchases must be disclosed in the ad or on the landing page. Ads, apps and websites cannot use names, logos or marks linked to real-money gambling brands.
Google currently allows certified social casino campaigns in 42 countries. The list includes the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Brazil, Germany, India, Japan and Australia. Advertisers still need approval for the countries they intend to target.
Account Structure Can Add Work
One Google Ads account cannot hold certification for both social casino and online gambling. Businesses operating in both industries have to manage separate advertising accounts. The same may apply to different social casino targeting groups.
A related policy update comes into effect on August 26. Google will provide new forms and new criteria for online gambling, certain non-casino games, and social casino games. From that date, new applicants will have to use the updated forms. Recertification will also be required after material changes to application details.
For social casino operators, the in-account certification process should eliminate at least some of the hassle associated with approval. It won’t expand the eligible market on its own. Campaign access still depends on local eligibility, disclosure, and account separation.
