Finnish supplier completes Svenska Spel integration

Finnish supplier completes Svenska Spel integration
Fennica Gaming adds casino games to complete three-product rollout with Swedish operator

Fennica Gaming launched its online casino games with Svenska Spel Sport & Casino last week. The Finnish supplier now has all three of its gaming verticals running with the Swedish state-owned operator.

This wraps up a process that started with eInstants, then added electronic gaming machine titles. Casino games were the final piece. Svenska Spel runs one of Sweden’s regulated gambling sites.

Niklas Örtbrant heads casino operations at Svenska Spel Sport & Casino. He said the teams worked together to meet their launch timeline.

Why The Fast Timeline Matters

The integration happened quicker than typical product rollouts. Fennica coordinated between its own developers, Veikkaus tech teams, and Svenska Spel’s operations staff.

“Our teams at Fennica and Veikkaus tech, as well as the team with the customer at Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, were motivated to go live on a rapid schedule,” said Kirsi Lagus, SVP of Portfolio and Product Development at Fennica Gaming.

Svenska Spel wanted exclusive content options. That’s becoming more important as Sweden’s market gets crowded.

The supplier tested everything in Finland first under Veikkaus. That gave them player data and technical feedback before rolling out internationally.

What Changed During Integration

Fennica deployed its full “Gaming Universe” across three categories. Each vertical required separate technical work and compliance checks.

The eInstants went live first. Then came the EGM games. Casino games finished the package.

Örtbrant mentioned his team wants to see which games perform best. “Fennica’s expanding portfolio excites us, and we look forward to discovering which games our players enjoy most,” he said.

The companies used what Lagus called “advanced tools” and “latest technology” to speed things up. But she didn’t specify which systems.

How This Positions Both Companies

Fennica now has a reference customer for its complete product suite outside Finland. That helps when pitching to other European operators.

The timing’s interesting. Sweden’s gambling regulator Spelinspektionen just tightened oversight of land-based venues and updated casino licence requirements.

Svenska Spel itself is adjusting partnerships. The operator confirmed it won’t renew its HockeyAllsvenskan sponsorship past June 2026. That deal ends after next season.

For Fennica, having three verticals live with an international customer proves their platform works across different game types. The company’s still relatively unknown outside Nordic markets.

Svenska Spel gets content diversity without managing multiple supplier relationships. And they can test which of Fennica’s exclusive titles actually attract players before committing to more games.
