Wazdan enters Delaware market through state lottery deal
Game supplier adds fifth US state with regulated online gaming partnership

Wazdan launched its games in Delaware this week through a partnership with the state lottery. The supplier now operates in five US states after adding Michigan, New Jersey, West Virginia and Pennsylvania over the past year. Delaware’s lottery runs under the Department of Finance and has been active for 49 years.

The state lottery offers both traditional lottery products and casino games. Players access these through online platforms and retail locations across Delaware.

Wazdan CEO Michal Imiolek said the company is “proud to announce our market entry into Delaware, one of the pioneering states in US iGaming.” He added that working within the lottery framework shows Wazdan’s focus on regulated markets.

Why This Partnership Matters for State Gaming

Delaware was among the first states to launch online gambling. But its market remains small compared to neighbours like New Jersey and Pennsylvania. State-run gaming systems operate differently than commercial casino models used elsewhere.

The lottery structure means one operator controls the entire market. This gives suppliers like Wazdan direct access without competing for multiple operator deals.

State gaming revenue goes straight to Delaware’s General Fund. That’s been the setup since the lottery launched in 1976. Casino content additions can potentially boost that revenue stream.

What Games Delaware Players Get

Delaware users now have access to Wazdan’s slot portfolio. The games include several proprietary mechanics the company developed.

Hold the Jackpot appears in multiple titles. Cash Infinity, Collect to Infinity and Sticky to Infinity represent other game features Wazdan built. The Cash Out mechanic gives players control over certain game outcomes.

Wazdan currently distributes games across more than 25 regulated markets worldwide. Each market gets a selection from the full portfolio based on local preferences and regulations.

How This Fits Wazdan’s US Strategy

Wazdan is building its North American presence state by state. The company targets regulated environments and works with licensed operators. That approach differs from suppliers who rushed into grey markets.

Five states represents modest but steady growth. Each new jurisdiction requires separate approval processes and compliance work. State-run systems like Delaware’s add another layer since there’s only one partner to work with.

The US expansion continues alongside Wazdan’s existing international business. Growth in North America has become a priority as more states consider online gaming legislation. Getting established in early-mover states like Delaware positions the company for future opportunities.

This partnership reflects ongoing activity in state-controlled gaming sectors. More suppliers are seeking access to these smaller but stable markets.
