The local site, stake.bet.ar, now gives customers in Buenos Aires Province access to Stake’s online casino and sportsbook. The launch does not cover all of Argentina because online gambling is regulated at the provincial level. In other words, Buenos Aires Province represents its own market, distinct from Buenos Aires City and other regions.
The move gives Stake access to more than 17 million residents in Argentina’s largest province, where football remains a major part of the local sports market.
IPLyC Cleared the Brand and Domain Change
The approval came from the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos, known as IPLyC. The provincial resolution authorized DYNAMO TYCHE – HOTEL CASINO TANDIL SA – UT to use the Stake brand and approved the change of the .bet.ar operating domain from easybet.bet.ar to stake.bet.ar.
The approval is tied to an existing Buenos Aires Province online gambling license framework. It does not constitute a national gambling license for Argentina.
The resolution also states that the operator had been using easybet.bet.ar. Therefore, the Stake launch can be considered the transition to a new brand and domain.
Latin America Remains the Main Growth Angle
The launch in Argentina is part of Stake’s broader expansion in Latin America. The brand already has a foothold in countries such as Mexico, Peru, Brazil, and Colombia.
Argentina provides its own set of opportunities. This country has a strong sporting affinity, widespread mobile use, and a fragmented regulatory landscape. Approvals at the local level, positioning at the local level, and compliance become critical factors.
In addition, Stake has a regional marketing connection due to its partnership with Sergio Agüero, a former Argentine football player. This makes the brand recognizable in the football-influenced commercial landscape of Argentina.
Stake’s LatAm management has framed the region as part of the company’s long-term expansion plans. The brand was established in 2017, with industry reports citing over 100 million visits each month on a global level.
What to Watch
For now, the important detail is the route. Stake is entering through Buenos Aires Province, not through a national opening across Argentina. That makes the launch useful for watching how international operators handle a market where each province can set its own rules.
