Playtika launched NFL-themed features in its World Series of Poker mobile app. The collaboration was actually announced November 10, though Playtika only publicised it recently.
Guy Ceder manages the WSOP application. He called the NFL “one of the most iconic sports leagues in the world.”
The integration runs through February 8, 2026. It targets the massive overlap between poker players and football fans.
Why this free-to-play strategy matters now
The timing isn’t random. Football season drives mobile engagement across gaming apps.
“This collaboration gives our WSOP players even more reasons to play, adding fresh layers of fun, excitement and competition that bring these two great passions together in a powerful free-to-play way,” Ceder said.
Playtika’s betting on engagement over monetisation here. The features don’t require purchases.
But increased daily play drives long-term revenue. More sessions mean more opportunities for in-app purchases later.
The approach follows industry patterns. Providers use limited-time events to boost active user numbers.
What players get with NFL integration
The app now includes 32 team-inspired cards. Players collect these to complete an NFL Album.
New missions let users earn special in-game currency. Playtika added NFL-themed avatars and daily challenges too.
The main draw is a free 13-week sweepstakes. It offers NFL-themed rewards and giveaways.
Four NFL puzzles unlock within the app. Complete all four and you get the “ultimate grand prize” (though Playtika didn’t specify what that is).
The features work like seasonal content in other mobile games. Time-limited mechanics push players to engage daily.
How this fits Playtika’s broader strategy
The NFL integration follows Playtika’s strong Q3 performance. The company posted $674.6 million in revenue for the third quarter of 2025, up 8.7% from the same period last year.
WSOP has been expanding across the US. Caesars Entertainment ran the 2025 WSOP online fall series from September 28 through November 11.
That series marked the first time WSOP operated with pooled liquidity across four states. Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan all participated.
The opening tournament featured a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool. Bracelet and circuit ring winners received $5,000 WSOP Paradise packages.
Those packages include entry to the Circuit Championship Mystery Bounty No-limit Hold’em tournament. That event offers a $5 million guaranteed pool.
The NFL features likely aim to maintain engagement between major WSOP tournament series.
