Paysafe brings Pix and Boleto to Boosteroid in Brazil
Payment provider adds local checkout options for cloud gaming subscriptions

Paysafe rolled out new payment methods for Boosteroid subscribers in Brazil yesterday. The cloud gaming service now accepts Pix and Boleto Bancário through Paysafe’s SafetyPay integration. Boosteroid gives players access to over 1,700 PC games via monthly and annual subscriptions.

The payment upgrade targets Brazil’s gaming community specifically. It builds on Paysafe’s existing eCash support for Boosteroid across Europe. Rob Gatto, Paysafe’s CRO, has over two decades of experience in gaming payments. He called the expansion a natural fit for both companies.

Artem Skoryi serves as VP of Business Development at Boosteroid. The cloud gaming provider operates through native apps and web browsers on multiple devices.

Why Brazil Needs These Payment Methods

Brazilian gamers rely heavily on local payment systems. Pix reaches 76.4% of the population, according to the Brazilian Central Bank. The instant payment system launched by Brazil’s central bank has become the country’s dominant digital payment method.

But cash isn’t going anywhere. About 68.9% of Brazilians still use cash for everyday transactions. That’s where Boleto Bancário comes in.

The voucher system lets people pay at bank branches, lottery shops and retail stores nationwide. It’s particularly important for gamers without bank accounts or credit cards.

What the Integration Actually Does

Players choosing Pix at checkout scan a QR code or enter a Pix key through their banking app. Access to Boosteroid’s game library happens almost instantly.

Boleto Bancário works differently. The system generates a payment voucher with a barcode. Users can then pay cash at thousands of locations across Brazil. Once payment clears, they get access to the platform.

The checkout process stays within Boosteroid’s existing subscription flow. No separate accounts or additional steps required. Skoryi said the integration creates an “intuitive and user-friendly experience” for Brazilian gamers.

How This Changes Boosteroid’s Brazil Strategy

The payment options remove a major barrier for Brazilian customers. Many potential subscribers couldn’t access Boosteroid’s service before due to limited payment methods.

Gatto said the tailored checkout should help Boosteroid grow its player base in Latin America’s largest economy. The company aims to increase revenue by meeting local payment preferences. And those preferences matter. Brazil’s gaming market continues expanding, with cloud gaming gaining ground.

The move follows industry patterns. First recently partnered with PixBet to deliver a localised sportsbook for Brazil. Payment localisation has become standard practice for companies entering the Brazilian market. Paysafe’s gaming payment experience positions it well for similar expansions across Latin America.
