Palms Casino Resort names Kevin Glass GM

Glass takes over day-to-day operations after former GM Stephan Thayer's departure in June

Kevin Glass has been promoted to General Manager of Palms Casino Resort and Palms Place in Las Vegas, both owned by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. Glass, previously VP of Hospitality and most recently Assistant GM, brings extensive experience in Las Vegas gaming, having worked at Red Rock Resort, Green Valley Ranch, The Cosmopolitan, Sahara Las Vegas, and Park MGM.

Why This Appointment Fills a Critical Gap

The promotion addresses leadership instability following Stephan Thayer’s exit in June 2025, less than a year into his GM tenure. San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority Chair Latisha Prieto highlighted Glass’s long tenure and deep understanding of the property, emphasizing the importance of continuity for a Tribal-owned operation in a competitive Vegas market.

What Changes Under Glass’s Leadership

Glass will oversee all day-to-day operations for both Palms properties. His rapid promotion from Assistant GM underscores ownership confidence in his leadership. By promoting from within, Palms retains institutional knowledge and ensures continuity in its operations and culture.

How This Impacts Las Vegas Gaming

As the only Tribal-owned casino currently operating in Las Vegas, Palms benefits from stable leadership to compete with Strip resorts. Glass’s experience could help the property strengthen its market position, especially with Hard Rock Las Vegas expected to become the second Tribal-owned casino in 2027. Prieto emphasized Glass’s dual focus on guest experience and Tribal culture as a key differentiator for Palms in the crowded Vegas gaming scene.
