Fanatics Takes NFL Betting Role After Partner Shake-Up

The agreement changes the structure of the NFL’s betting partnerships. For several years, the league worked with multiple major operators, including FanDuel, DraftKings and Caesars. Those agreements have now been replaced by a deal with Fanatics.
Previous Sponsors Leave Empty Position
The NFL entered 2026 without an official sportsbook sponsor after earlier agreements ended in March. It was the first time since 2021 that the league had no betting partner.
Renewal discussions with existing operators reportedly continued for several months. However, the sides did not reach new agreements.
One reported obstacle was the cost of official league data. Sportsbooks rely on fast and accurate game information for their products, but operators were concerned about the overall expense of maintaining large sponsorship packages alongside data costs.
Fanatics entered the talks as the NFL looked for a new sportsbook partner.
Fanatics Looks For NFL Growth
Fanatics Sportsbook is still a relatively new name compared with FanDuel and DraftKings. The company launched its betting operation in 2023, several years after the two market leaders had already built strong positions.
The NFL agreement puts Fanatics in front of millions of football fans across the US. Football remains the largest driver of betting activity in the country, with professional games attracting strong interest from bettors every week.
Industry figures have placed Fanatics at around 8% market share in 2025. The company has expanded through new partnerships and products linked to the wider sports market.
Deal Fits Fanatics Expansion Plans
The agreement fits Fanatics’ wider business model. The company has built an ecosystem around sports fans, combining merchandise, media projects, betting and other digital products.
Traditional sportsbook operators have mostly focused on betting offers, advertising and customer acquisition. Fanatics has taken a broader approach by connecting betting with other sports-related services.
The NFL partnership gives the company another way to reach existing sports audiences. Fanatics can use league visibility to support its sportsbook while connecting users with other parts of its platform.
DraftKings And FanDuel Face New Pressure
The deal does not change the position of FanDuel and DraftKings in the US betting market. Both companies remain among the leading operators in the country.
However, losing the NFL sponsorship changes their marketing position. Official league partnerships have helped sportsbooks build recognition among casual bettors.
Fanatics is now getting the type of exposure that its competitors used for years. The company will have to show whether NFL visibility can bring long-term sportsbook growth.
