Eureka Casino Resort opened its Onyx Lounge on December 10. Only Gold Club members who’ve reached the Onyx rewards tier can use it.
The employee-owned operator runs the only 100% employee-owned casino company in the US. CEO Andre Carrier leads the Mesquite, Nevada property, which houses slots, video poker, table games and the area’s biggest sportsbook.
The new lounge sits inside Eureka Casino Resort as part of a much larger property upgrade that started last year.
Why Eureka Built This Members-Only Retreat
The $100m renovation kicked off in early 2024. Carrier says the company wants to build a “more refined and comfortable resort experience” for guests.
Top players needed their own space away from the main floor. The lounge gives them a quiet spot to relax between gaming sessions.
“Our most loyal guests deserve a space where they can relax, recharge, and feel appreciated,” Carrier said. He added that as the transformation continues, “our focus stays on creating places and moments that feel special.”
The company already updated Gregory’s Mesquite Grill last month. That dining venue marked the first major reveal from the renovation plan. Now the Onyx Lounge follows as the second completed phase.
What Changes Are Coming to the Property
The Onyx Lounge features gold accents throughout and an onyx backsplash behind the bar. Food and drinks are available. A glass-drop chandelier hangs in the centre. Eureka calls it a “quiet, elevated retreat.”
But the lounge represents just one piece of the puzzle. The entire casino floor will get completely redone. All gaming areas are getting refreshed, from slots to table games to the sportsbook.
Hotel rooms are next in line. Every room in the property will be updated with new furnishings and finishes.
The building’s exterior will also get a new look. That work is scheduled for later in the renovation timeline.
How This Fits Eureka’s Bigger Strategy
Carrier says the Onyx Lounge “reflects the direction of the resort’s broader reinvestment.” The upgrades go beyond cosmetic improvements.
The changes show a “long-term commitment to its guests, employee-owners, and the entire Mesquite community,” according to Carrier. The employee ownership model means staff have direct financial stakes in the property’s success.
Each renovation phase aims to create what Carrier calls special moments for guests. The private lounge sets expectations for upcoming improvements across the resort’s other areas.
