Entain’s BlackRush Casino Surfaces in New Zealand as Licence Auction Starts

The site operates under ElectraWorks Limited. Gibraltar’s gambling register lists ElectraWorks as part of Entain Group.
BlackRush Already Has Its Own NZ SMS Number
15M found BlackRush Casino in the country’s public marketing shortcode directory, WebSMS. The directory lists:
- 2986 – Betcha, explicitly listed as Entain Australia & NZ;
- 5343 – TAB NZ, also attributed to Entain Australia & New Zealand;
- 8614 – BlackRush Casino.
The BlackRush listing does not show that promotional messages have actually been sent. It does show that a separate piece of local messaging infrastructure has already been provisioned for the brand.
BlackRush Fits Into Entain’s Three-Licence Plan
Under the new regime, each online casino licence covers one brand, while a single holder can receive no more than three. The Department of Internal Affairs says up to 15 licences will be available.
BlackRush could be one of Entain’s three. The group has not publicly confirmed which brands it will submit for licensing.
Entain has, however, been clear about the number it wants. 15M reported in March that the group was targeting the maximum three licences and saw its existing TAB position as a way to cross-sell casino products once the regulated market opened.
The appearance of BlackRush now puts an identifiable consumer brand next to that earlier plan.
