DraftKings launches Spanish-language app experience
Operator expands accessibility across US and Ontario markets with full language integration

DraftKings rolled out Spanish-language functionality across its mobile sportsbook and casino app.
DraftKings introduced Spanish-language support across its mobile sportsbook and casino apps this week. The feature targets Spanish-speaking customers in US markets and Ontario.

Select existing customers can access it now, with full availability coming in the next few weeks. The phased release allows DraftKings to test the integration before full deployment.

The operator didn’t share user totals, but Chief Product Officer Corey Gottlieb said Spanish-speaking customers represent “a growing segment” of the audience — crucial in markets where every percentage point of share matters.

Why DraftKings built a complete Spanish experience

The company wants to reach a larger addressable market. That’s the foundation of the move.

“By bringing Spanish-language functionality to our best-in-class product, we’re creating a more intuitive experience for our customers,” Gottlieb said. He described it as part of DraftKings’ effort to deliver “the most authentic, personalised product for everyone.”

The shift follows demographic trends. Spanish speakers form a major portion of the US population, especially in gambling-heavy states like New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Serving them effectively strengthens DraftKings’ competitive standing.

The timing also aligns with the company’s expansion into new markets. Spanish support amplifies customer acquisition in states with large Hispanic populations.

What the Spanish integration actually covers

This is more than simple menu translation. DraftKings implemented language support across the entire customer journey.

Account registration, navigation, betting content, and gameplay features all run in Spanish. Promotional materials are translated as well.

Customer support is offered in Spanish, and importantly, so is the Responsible Gaming Center. That ensures regulatory compliance and supports player safety.

The feature works on both iOS and Android, activating automatically if a user’s device language is set to Spanish.

DraftKings launched language support across both sportsbook and casino at the same time — unlike competitors who stagger updates or limit them to specific products.

How this fits DraftKings’ broader growth strategy

The Spanish-language rollout comes shortly after several expansion moves.

Last week, DraftKings announced plans to launch Missouri sports betting on December 1st. It becomes the second operator with a direct mobile wagering license there, entering a new market with minimal early competition.

Earlier in the month, the company opened its first Puerto Rico retail sportsbook at Foxwoods El San Juan Casino. Online betting in Puerto Rico awaits regulatory approval, and the market is largely Spanish-speaking.

The broader strategy is clear: expand into new territories while improving accessibility in existing ones. Spanish-language support helps maximise growth on both fronts.

Other operators are expected to follow. Within the next year, Spanish support could become a standard requirement in competitive US markets. For now, DraftKings holds an advantage — FanDuel and BetMGM have not yet announced similar features.
