Caesars Sportsbook Launches First Oregon Betting Kiosks in Partnership with Coquille Indian Tribe

Coquille Indian Tribe partners with gaming giant to bring sports wagering to coastal casino.

Caesars Entertainment accepted its first sports bets in Oregon on 19 May. The gaming company partnered with the Coquille Indian Tribe in Coos Bay to make this happen.

The ceremonial first wager took place at Ko-Kwel Casino Resort, which used to be called The Mill Casino. Funny enough, the casino was also celebrating its 30th anniversary that same day.

This marks Caesars’ debut in The Beaver State’s sports betting market. The company trades on NASDAQ under the symbol CZR.

This deal brings Caesars’ sports betting platform to Oregon tribal land for the first time. The kiosks offer betting options that aren’t available through Oregon’s statewide mobile betting.

Full college sports betting stands out as a key difference. State-regulated mobile betting doesn’t include this popular option.

“We remain committed to supporting Indian gaming,” said Eric Hession, who runs Caesars Digital. The tribal casino expects the new offering to boost its guest experience.

Hession commented: “Bringing our sports wagering offering to a new jurisdiction for the first time is always significant and we know offering our expansive menu of sports wagering markets will undoubtedly enhance the exceptional experience that the Coquille Indian Tribe provides to its guests.”

Caesars installed a “large fleet” of self-service betting kiosks throughout the casino floor. These machines offer same-game parlays, player props, futures and live in-play markets.

Only guests 21 and older can place bets. The partnership aims to improve the sports viewing experience at Ko-Kwel.

Margaret Simpson, CEO of the Coquille Economic Development Corporation, called it a match between “iconic” brands. “Both brands have represented excellence in the industry for decades,” she noted.

The new betting setup comes with responsible gambling measures from both partners. Caesars has a long history here – they launched the industry’s first responsible gaming program back in 1989.

Their “Project 21” initiative prevents people under 21 from using Caesars Rewards or accessing gaming products.

The company recently earned recognition for these efforts. In March 2024, they received RG Check accreditation from the Responsible Gambling Council in Ontario. They also won an award from the National Council on Problem Gambling for corporate social responsibility.

Bettors in Coos Bay now have a new option for legal sports wagering in what Caesars calls a “responsible environment.” Both partners seem proud of their decades-long commitment to gambling safeguards.

In April 2025, Caesars Entertainment secured a content integration deal with EveryMatrix, allowing Caesars players in Ontario and five US States to access new slot games via the SlotMatrix platform.

Additionally, the Caesars Sportsbook earned the RG Check accreditation from the Responsible Gambling Council in Ontario earlier this year.
