Octoplay’s 3 Blazing Chilis Builds Its Hold & Win Around Three Coloured Chilis

Octoplay’s 3 Blazing Chilis Builds Its Hold & Win Around Three Coloured Chilis
Octoplay released 3 Blazing Chilis: Hold & Win on March 31, 2026\. The game sits on a 5x3 grid with five fixed paylines. RTP is 95.78%, slightly below the market average of 96%. Volatility is low. The maximum win is 3,817x the bet. Bets run from €0.10 to €250.

The slot lands in a crowded corner of the market. Mexican fiesta themes and Hold & Win mechanics appear regularly, and titles like 3 Hot Chillies, 3 Super Hot Chillies and 3 Hot Chilli Peppers Extra cover similar ground. The difference here is that Octoplay’s three chili types don’t just trigger the bonus and disappear. They stay active throughout and each does something different on every spin for the entire duration of the feature.

The Three Chilis

Above the reels sit three chili peppers on individual grills: Green, Yellow and Red. When a matching chili symbol lands, it flies toward its pepper and may trigger Hold & Win with that chili active. Once activated, each chili stays on for the whole bonus round.

  • Green adds 1x to the cash prize of every locked symbol on each spin. With five symbols already locked, that is 5x added to the total prize pool per spin, compounding over the course of the bonus;

  • Yellow doubles the prize of one random locked symbol per spin, targeting only symbols below 500x the bet;

  • Red adds an entire extra row of locked Red Chili symbols when it activates. Those row symbols are never removed when a reel collects, unlike standard locked symbols.

The bonus starts with three free spins that reset each time a new chili lands. All landed chilis lock in place. When a full reel fills with locked symbols, all prizes on that reel collect and clear.

Jackpots

The Grand requires 40 chili symbols across a 5×3 grid of 15 cells, which is physically only reachable with Red active and its bonus row in play.

Jackpot Payout Chilis required
Mini 15x 15
Minor 50x 25
Major 250x 35
Grand 2,500x 40

Players can buy direct entry to Hold & Win for 80x the bet. A Double Chance option adds 0.50x per spin to raise the natural trigger rate.

Paytable

High-paying symbols are Cactus, Taco, Tequila and Sombrero, paying between 7.5x and 20x for five of a kind. Card ranks pay 5x for five of a kind. The Wild substitutes for everything except chilis.

About Octoplay

Octoplay was founded in October 2022 in Malta by Carl Ejlertsson, formerly of Red Tiger and Evolution. The studio runs five in-house teams: Penguin King, Super Hippo, Smash Games, Twice As Nice and Combat Royale. The portfolio exceeds 100 titles. Partners include Betsson, Flutter, LeoVegas, William Hill, Kindred and Rank Group. The studio made its US debut in New Jersey in June 2025 and expanded to Michigan in January 2026.

It also runs JackpotHunt, a progressive jackpot network active across more than 80 of its games.

Where This Sits

Low volatility and an RTP of 95.78% indicate that this slot is designed for long sessions. The bonus awarded for each spin in the green field is the main source of winnings during extended bonus rounds. The random nature of the yellow field makes spins unpredictable, even when the field is nearly full. The red field is activated least often, but it is the most important, as the Grand Jackpot cannot be won without it.

The maximum win of 3,817x is modest. For players who want a bonus that builds over time rather than being decided in a single spin, the three-chili system adds more depth to this feature than most Hold & Win releases in this genre.
